Use Excel to compile a list of local, national and International organizations, people and businesses that support your country, service-learning or arts and artists. Excel will help to keep this information organized. Start by collecting name, contact person, email, phone number, address, URL, aim of group/person, description of project or programs and a visual if possible. Click for Excel Template and instructions on how to link to these items.

Matrix Database Assignment

Over the next few days we are going to use Excel to create a database of local artists, organizations, philanthropies and businesses who are related to the artwork and culture of a specific country. I will give a brief tutorial about how to set up basic spreadsheets and how to hyperlink objects and documents to them. This will help you stay organized. These groups can be interested parties, non-profits, or individuals, here locally or nationally and should be included if they are related to the artists, cooperatives or issues confronting that country. This will be done in preparation for our Global Bazaar and to find an audience outside the school that might help us with our event.

Please select one of the artists or community groups on the board.
Guatemala
Asia
India
Africa
Central/South America

Using Internet and other research methods, please find the following information.
Place your information immediately after the headings. (See sample on board.)

When you are done ERASE these instructions above so that only your information shows.
Then RESAVE this document as YOUR GROUP COUNTRY + YOUR NAME.doc (Ex: new file is AsiaBobF.doc)
